...in the fox body. Everything important works great in the Jag but the mustang seems to enjoy not having tail lights or instrument backlighting. Go figure. Out of a Ford, Jaguar, and Mazda it’s the Jaguar that is viable transportation, even though the carb is running massively rich all the time and I’m getting 6mpg city.

I DD’d a 20 year old XJ6 for 6 years and 100k miles, and until near the end it was one of the most reliable cars I’ve ever owned (which is admittedly not a high bar).

You just need to remember to make a ritual offering of bloody or burnt knuckles to the Prince of Darkness every so often.

Dude you need a Lincoln, Mercury, Volvo, Land Rover, and Aston to represent the early 2000s Ferd Motor Company in its entirety.

What year is the Jag? If it’s an early pre-HE XJS then you’re getting about what the old 12 would have gotten for MPGs, really.

It’s an early 80s Chevy V8 :P People with this exact same engine/cam/carb/trans combo are getting 17mpg highway in C10 trucks. It’s running pig-rich for some reason and I can’t fix it without buying a calibration kit for the carb.

Yeah but Ford had nothing to do with Jaguar in ‘77 :P

Oh I know it’s been swapped, I’m just saying an early v12 XJS would be getting crazy shitty mileage even if it were running perfect, haha. The later HE cars improved the mileage by quite a lot.

Also, your Jag has a GM engine, and Ford really did nothing with the Miata, and your Mustang predates the early 2000s, but details, details.
